Moments ago, Turkish broadcaster TRT confirmed on its website what fans were speculating about already for days: Hadise Açıkgöz will represent the nation at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Being music lovers, the Substance01 team decided to help creating a new profile for Hadise’s Fan Club on Myspace. The 23-year old singer is well-known in Belgium, where she was born, as singer, songwriter and since recently even as television presenter. With this choice, Turkish television picked an experienced entertainer to represent the country on stage in Moscow. TRT officials assured the young singer significant influence in the choice of the song and the act. It is unknown yet if her song for Moscow will be chosen entirely internally, or if the public will be involved in some way.
